A fully CQC compliant, private mental health rehabilitation facility in Bexhill on Sea currently has a vacancy for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their extensive multidisciplinary team.

Details of this Band 6 Occupational Therapist position and what the hospital is offering:

  • 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis
  • Day shifts only
  • Depending on experience an annual salary of £25,000 to £30,000

What this Band 6 Occupational Therapist post will involve:

  • Managing a clinical caseload of patients with forensic histories and challenging behaviours, undertaking patient assessments, compiling, implementing and evaluating individualised treatment programmes
  • Providing advice and support to the MDT on all aspects of OT relevant to patient treatment programmes, acting as Vocational Lead for the site
  • Taking responsibility for the day to day running of OT services, including line management and clinical supervision to junior members of the OT Team
  • Participating in Clinical Governance activities

Applicants for this Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead position should meet the following criteria:

  • Qualified Occupational Therapist with up to date HCPC and BAOT registration
  • Demonstrate at least 2 years’ experience in delivering and coordinating Occupational Therapy services in a mental health/forensic/hospital setting, with some managerial or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the recovery approach, My Shared Pathway and The Mental Health Act, in addition to being able to assess patients and plan care following the Model of Human Occupation
  • A strong communicator with good leadership skills and able to work well independently and collaboratively
  • Well organised, motivated and able to work under pressure
