A leading private hospital in Macclesfield is looking to hire a Specialist Hand Therapist on a part-time basis. The hospital is highly rated and treats patients with a range of conditions. The hospital is fitted with state-of-the-art equipment to aid a high level of care and an all-round good experience.

•             A permanent, part-time contract of 22 hours per week on day shifts

As a Specialist Hand Therapist your role would include managing your own complex and specialised caseload of patients. You will assess a wide range of orthopaedic hand conditions and modify treatment aims, objectives and desired outcomes in collaboration with the patients and carers. You should be able to make recommendations to colleagues bases on practical knowledge.

What we’re looking for in a Hand Therapist:

•             BSc (hons) degree in Physiotherapy

•             Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration for Physiotherapy

•             At least 5 years’ post graduate experience

•             Evidence of additional specialist knowledge acquired through relevant post-graduate training.

•             Previous extensive experience is essential in specialist hand therapy

•             Highly skilled in hand therapy splinting and post-operative wound care.

•             Experience of a wide range of approaches for the management of complex patients.

•             Awareness of cognitive behavioural approach to rehabilitation.
