A leading care provider in the Winchester area is looking to recruit a Registered Adult Nurse/RGN/RMN to join their management team as Peripatetic Deputy Manager on a permanent full-time basis.

About the Peripatetic Deputy Manager role and what the home is offering:

  • A permanent full-time contract of 36 hours per week
  • A competitive hourly pay of £22.15 and £41,464.80 annually which is in line with NHS Band 6
  • Day Shifts

As a Peripatetic Deputy Manager your role will be to work as a Deputy Manager for specific periods of time according to the needs of the home. You will provide temporary relief in the absence of the manager in a Home, carrying out the full duties of the post. You will also carry out specific projects within a service. You will work closely with the Care & Nursing Team, relatives and other agencies to ensure person-centred care plans are in place that put the individual at the centre of all interactions, ensuring dignity and respect are maintained at all times. And finally, you will carry out duties in accordance with NMC guidelines, leading the Care & Nursing Team on shift and providing clinical leadership, practice development, feedback and reflection to Registered Nurses and Care Assistants as well as new and developing members of staff.

What we’re looking for in a Peripatetic Deputy Manager:

  • NMC Registered Adult Nurse/RGN or Registered Mental Health Nurse/RMN
  • Previous managerial experience of leading a care team in the care of older people
  • Have a working knowledge of the regulatory framework relating to care homes
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • You must be able to travel between care homes
  • Commitment to the ongoing training and development of your team
  • Awareness of best dementia care practice is highly desirable
