An exciting opportunity has arisen in a leading Glasgow hospital for an experienced RGN or ODP with a background in pre-operative and post anaesthetic care to work as Senior Theatre Practitioner.

The role will involve working in both anaesthetic and recovery phases of care and supporting the delivery of a safe, effective and high-quality operating theatre service.

Details of this Senior Anaesthetics & Recovery Nurse/ODP position and what the hospital is offering:

As Senior Theatre Nurse or ODP, you will play a key role in leading shifts and ensuring a high quality, safe patient experience throughout the anaesthetic and recovery phases of care. 

You will be working with a diverse patient mix, working with predominantly elective surgical patients undergoing a range of mainly orthopaedic and cosmetic procedures.

What we are looking for:

  • NMC registered Adult Nurse/RGN/RN1/RNA or HCPC registered Theatre Practitioner/ODP and have completed a recognised qualification/course in anaesthetics
  • Demonstrate proven experience working in anaesthetics and PACU with a varied case mix and confident leading, mentoring and supporting junior staff
  • Committed to your own professional development, with evidence of recent post-registration studies relevant to the role and willing to further develop your own skills and knowledge, including in the areas of IPC, risk management, health & safety and clinical audits
  • Demonstrate a commitment to clinical excellence and passionate about delivering the best possible service to patients
