A leading private hospital in the Leeds area is looking to recruit a Registered Adult Nurse/RGN or ODP to join their Anaesthetics team as a Theatre Practitioner on a full-time permanent basis.

About the Theatre Practitioner/ODP role and what the hospital is offering:

As a Theatre Practitioner your role will be to assist patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures including ENT, neurological, orthopaedic, laparoscopic, ophthalmic, gynaecology and urology. You will prepare the operating theatre/anaesthetic room for surgery in relation to instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum. You will be administering local anaesthetics to patients and assess patient’s health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.

What we’re looking for in a Theatre Practitioner:

  • NMC Registered Adult Nurse/RGN or Operating Department Practitioner/ODP
  • Relevant anaesthetic qualifications
  • Previous ODP experience with anaesthetic experience is essential
  • Experience working in a team with minimum supervision
  • A minimum of 2 years scrub experience is essential
  • Good clinical knowledge and understanding
  • Excellent communication, organisational, time-management and interpersonal skills
